The full title for this page is “Differences between the 3 principal 8-bit character sets: Microsoft’s ANSI, ISO-8859-1 and Apple’s MacRoman”. I found it useful when looking for the correct number to put in a style sheet; one of those occasions when I wanted to specify some content to appear in one of those ‘a:visited:after…’ situations. (If you are an Explorer user, you might as well ignore that last bit.)

Phew, that’s a bit of a mouthful. So I’ve renamed it Unicode characters for short.

If you go to the main Alan Wood homepage, you’ll find loads more about character sets.

Digital Image Collections is what I sometimes call an überlink. In other words, it takes you to another page full of links — in this case, links to online digital image collections. It could take you a while to check them all out, so be patient.
